Have you only got one scratched-up black fob for your shiny red car?

I can retrieve PIN codes from Bosch immobilisers fitted to various modern classic Ferrari models; 355, 360, 456, 550 and 575.

Once you have your car's 4-digit PIN, you can start your car without the fob and pair a new set of fobs purchased from your Ferrari dealer or parts supplier.

How much does it cost?

£400, which includes insured delivery back to you. There is no VAT to pay.

Why did you do this?

Many years ago, I bought a 355. It came with one black fob and no PIN number. Being young enough and stupid enough to have just spent my life savings on a ridiculous car, I didn’t give it much thought.

Then, my sole black fob began to work intermittently. I looked at my options; clone my fob, but keep the original and its clone in sync, or they’ll stop working; send my only fob to the US to be opened up and the PIN extracted from its memory chip; send my immobiliser box to Australia for the same procedure, with an even greater chance of it being lost in the post.

I didn’t like any of those options. Being a techie by trade, I thought I could probably do something, so I put together some electronics and wrote some software, found my car's PIN and coded three new fobs to my car. I can find your car's PIN too.

How do you find the PIN?

The machine brute-forces the PIN out of the immobiliser box. It's like having someone sitting in the driver's seat trying every PIN until they find the correct one, except the machine doesn't make mistakes or need to sleep.

How long does that take?

Depends what the PIN is. If it’s the first one the box tries, a minute. If it’s the 9,999th, a week.

Where do I send my immobiliser?

The address to send your immobiliser and completed order form to will be emailed to you after processing your payment.

Where are you based?

One of the worst places in the world to own a Ferrari 355; north London. And I’m inside the ULEZ zone too.

Do you supply new fobs?

Ferrari will only supply fobs in the UK upon production of proof of vehicle ownership, so I can't source new fobs. However, you can source a new "Remote Kit" as Ferrari call it, and either pair the new fobs yourself, by following some simple instructions, after refitting your immobiliser box, or you can pop your new fobs into the parcel with your immobiliser box and I'll pair them after retrieving your car's PIN.

Is there any small print?

  • I’m not responsible for your immobiliser box making its way to me. Insure it, don’t use Evri, drop it off in person if you like.
  • I’m not responsible for removing nor refitting your immobiliser box.
  • If for some unknown reason, I can’t retrieve your car's PIN, I’ll refund your £400 and return your immobiliser box.
